Mexican Moviemakers Score Big with Five-Film Deal

HOLLYWOOD - Mexico's ‘three amigos’ of the movies, Alfonso CuaronGuillermo Del Toro and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, have landed a new five-film deal with Universal Pictures.

The Latino trio has formed a new production partnership, cha cha cha and the unique venture will partner with Universal for financing, international sales and distribution.

All three filmmakers will direct projects for cha cha cha, while Cuaron's brother Carlos will also submit a movie.

The Mexicans were all double Oscar nominees this year - for the films, Pan's LabyrinthBabel and Children of Men.
