Michael Moore Launching Michigan Festival

Michael Moore
HOLLYWOOD - Controversial filmmaker Michael Moore is launching a film festival in his

home state of Michigan.

Moore, who won the Palme D'Or for his anti-George W. Bush documentary

Fahrenheit 9/11 at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, has received permission from

Traverse City officials to stage the Traverse City Film Festival in July.

The four-day event will include "non-partisan" films, according to Moore,

including movie classic Casablanca, which will be screened on a park

overlooking Lake Michigan.
