HOLLYWOOD - Fallen boxing champion Mike Tyson is being questioned by police over claims heassaulted a woman who refused to take his cocaine and have sex with him in a
nightclub on the Italian island of Panarea.
The former heavyweight star--who served a three-year prison sentence for
rape in the early 1990s--allegedly assaulted Florence Botoli, 33, when she
refused to take the illegal drug he is said to have offered her at the club in
Porto Cervo.
Botoli says, "He took a lot of cocaine and said he wanted to have sex with
me.
"When I said no and didn't take the drugs, he tried to force my head down
into the powder.
"He punched me and threw me to the floor until his bodyguard told him to calm
down."
The 38-year-old sports star--who announced his retirement from boxing
following his defeat to Irish fighter Kevin McBride earlier this year--was questioned for several hours by police aboard his private yacht and an
official file has now been opened on the case.
A police spokesman says, "Colleagues have questioned Mike Tyson in Panarea
about the allegations made against him by a 33-year-old woman.
"At this stage we cannot say anything else because an official file on the
case has been opened by the investigating magistrate.
"She will read the file supplied to her by the police and decide if there is
enough evidence for the case to continue."
