HOLLYWOOD - Heather Mills has produced audiotape evidence to prove her estranged husband Paul McCartney was physically abusive towards her during their marriage, according to a British tabloid report.
Mills and McCartney split in May 2006 after four years of marriage, and court papers leaked last year revealed the former model's allegations of assault against the former Beatle.
According to the Daily Mirror, Mills played the audio off camera on Wednesday after her angry outburst during a live U.K. interview on the GMTV morning show.
And sources claim the contents of the tape were shocking.
A witness tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "It was extraordinary. Heather and Paul were shouting. He can be heard confessing he hit (first wife) Linda 'once or twice.'
"No one knew what to do. It was astonishing stuff and seemed to back up Heather's claim that she's the victim in all this."
Mills, 39, is currently in discussions with McCartney to agree on a divorce settlement. The "Yesterday" singer has allegedly offered Mills $40 million--but reports claim she is holding out for $100 million.
