Mirren Scoops Two SAG Awards

HOLLYWOOD - British actress Helen Mirren has picked up two Screen Actors Guild awards at the star-studded Los Angeles ceremony.
The 61-year-old was named Best Female Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I in Elizabeth I, and she won the same prize in the movie category for playing Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen.
It was a good night for other Brits--Jeremy Irons took the Best Male Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries for his role in Elizabeth I and House star Hugh Laurie won the Best Male Actor in a Drama series award.
Elsewhere, there were awards for Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Ugly Betty star America Ferrera.
