Moore Doc to Tackle the Economy

Michael Moore’s upcoming follow-up to Fahrenheit 9/11 has reportedly undergone a not-so-subtle topic shift and will now focus on the world’s economic crisis.

Sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that although Moore had originally planned to dissect, more characteristically, America’s reputation around the world and foreign affairs, the director has quietly decided to tackle the world’s current underbelly.

Such a shift could result in Moore’s new film resembling his 1989 documentary Roger & Me more so than 2004’s Fahrenheit.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Moore is feverishly shooting the untitled doc, which could be ready as early as next spring.

Moore’s last theatrical release was 2007’s Sicko, although he recently unveiled Captain Mike Across America (aka Slacker Uprising) via the Internet.
