HOLLYWOOD - Supermodel Kate Moss could be the target of a dangerous stalker who is on the run after a horrific alleged sexual assault.
Former Village Voice journalist Peter Braunstein shook New York two weeks ago when he reportedly broke into the home of a former colleague, bound her with tape, stripped her and assaulted her for 13 hours. Police have since been unable to trace him.
And friends of Moss now fear Braunstein, who became obsessed with the catwalk beauty in 1992 after her rise to fame in the iconic Calvin Klein advertisements, could target her next.
The 41-year-old previously published an article entitled "Stalking Kate" in underground magazine BlackBook, where he described his "addiction" to the model.
He later wrote, "I tried to kick Kate cold turkey. There will never be a 'next Kate' for a simple reason: Kate is always 'the next Kate'.
"That makes her every woman, real or imagined, I've ever fallen hopelessly in love with."
