"Moulin Rouge" passes $100 million mark overseas


HOLLYWOOD - Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge

has passed the $100 million mark in overseas ticket sales as it continues to draw bigger crowds abroad than it did in the U.S., according to Screen Daily, the online edition of the weekly British trade publication Screen International. The 20th Century Fox film grossed $56.5 million during its domestic run. The film is expected to perform strongly in France, where it is set, when it opens there on Friday.
