HOLLYWOOD - Gossip blogger Perez Hilton is being hauled into court by a Hollywood movie studio over claims he posted a stolen topless photograph of Jennifer Aniston on the Internet.
In a suit filed on Tuesday in District Court, Universal City Studios Productions LLLP claimed the racy snap had been "misappropriated and illegally copied" during production or postproduction of the 2006 romantic comedy The Break-Up and posted on Web site PerezHilton.com by Mario Lavandeira, a.k.a. Hilton.
The film firm is claiming copyright infringement and seeking an injunction barring further distribution of the picture and a court order authorizing the seizure of all Hilton's material from the film.
It's not the first time Aniston has been the center of a topless-picture scandal--last September the actress and celebrity photographer Peter Brandt settled a lawsuit regarding semi-nude photos Brandt shot of her in late 2005.
