HOLLYWOOD - NBC has denied offering Paris Hilton $1 million to secure the first interview with her after her release from jail next week.
A number of sources claimed NBC news was prepared to pay the sum--but a spokesperson insists the claims are completely unfounded.
Allison Gollust insists, "We don't pay for interviews and we'll never pay for interviews, and I have no interview to confirm."
Hilton's spokesperson, Elliot Mintz, also denied any knowledge of a deal, saying, "I can't comment because I really and truly don't know."
NBC was able to side-step its payment policy to secure an interview with British royals Princes William and Harry, by paying to air a concert in honor of their late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, on July 1.
