Tom Brady's supermodel wife, Giselle Bünchen, became a topic of great conversation on Monday morning after she was caught on tape blaming her husband's teammates for losing the Super Bowl. Naturally, some people didn't take her little outburst very well, believing her to be a poor sport. And even though her little tantrum was days ago (that's like years in internet time), she's still receiving criticism over the whole thing, and from the least likely source: the New York Giants.
Reporters asked Giants running back Brandon Jacobs what he thought of Bunchen's little rant during the victory celebration on Feb. 7, and he responded, "She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up." Great advice, don't you think? Now if only he could follow it too. Why does he care what she said about her husband's teammates? He should be on cloud nine after his team's victory, not bad-mouthing the opposing quarterback's wife who instinctively came to the defense of her husband. Plus, is it just me or does he comment sound a little sexist, like that's how he thinks all women should be? Then again, I could be over-thinking it.
Jacobs' teammate, Osi Umenyiora, however, expressed a little more sympathy over her outburst, saying, "I mean, she's supposed to stay out of things like that. But at the end of the day that's their relationship and she has the right to say whatever she wants to." At least he was a little more reasonable with his comment. After all, win or lose, a girl's got to stand by her man.
