Apparently boxing movies are back in the spotlight after The Fighter scooped up round after round of awards. The latest genre entry to get an incredible cast is The Bleeder which just landed Liev Schreiber, Naomi Watts and Christina Hendricks. It’ll be directed by award winning documentarian Jeff Feuerzeig, who also co-wrote the script. The film will tell the story of Chuck Wepner, a heavyweight that inspired Sylvester Stallone to write Rocky. So basically it’ll be a remake of Rocky with the added benefit of saying it’s based on a true story? Awesome. But then again, it gives us another chance for us to ogle over Hendricks, so why are we complaining again?
Also, anyone, and I mean anyone, that tries to make this movie into a menstruation joke should have to go three rounds with a heavyweight boxer. Period.
