Hollywood’s most in-demand writing duo is teaming up for an update of Hawaii Five-O, which will return to CBS, the network it aired on from 1968-1980.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who wrote this summer’s mega-blockbusters Star Trek and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, will join forces with CSI: Miami exec producer Peter Lenkov for the new Five-O.

The original starred Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett, the no-nonsense head of the fictional Hawaiian state police force.

Kurtzman and Orci’s past collaborations include scripts for Mission: Impossible III and the first Transformers, and serving as co-creators/exec producers of TV’s Fringe.

Book ‘em, Danno!
