Let’s talk the Uncanny Valley for a bit. I think we’ve reached the nadir of the valley and soon we’ll be able to create computer images that look exactly like a human face. But for the moment, let us look at this new trailer for Mars Needs Moms. We’re stuck in the creepy phase where the hair looks as light and fluffy as can be, but the eyes! The eyes are full of death! Kill it! Kill it with fire!
The only thing that even remotely gives me a slight bit of hope is that this movie is based off a book by Berkeley Breathed. Yep, the guy behind "Bloom Count and Opus" wrote the book that this is based on. While I’m glad that his work is being produced, holy shit does this look bland as hell. Between being stuck in the uncanny valley, a story about finding mothers and being shown in 3D? BLURGH.
