Movie bosses are marking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' 25th anniversary, by taking the amphibian crime fighters back to the big screen.
The turtles are back in the limelight this week, as Tribeca Film Festival organizers celebrate their 1984 creation with a special bash in New York City.
The Empire State Building was be lit green on Thursday in their honor, and a special screening took place for fans who were invited to turn up dressed as Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Raphael and Donatello.
And it'll be followed by a new movie, which is set for release in 2011, according to Variety.
Superman Returns producer Scott Mednick is behind the project, and he reveals the new film will focus on the original 1980s Turtles comic books.
Mednick tells Variety, "The original dozen comics created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman are some of the best source material one could hope for."
