HOLLYWOOD - Hollywood legend Paul Newman's acting career is a "closed book" so he can concentrate on his restaurant instead.
The Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid star is finding it increasingly difficult to maintain a high level of performance, so he is ditching the silver screen to promote his organic eatery, Dressing Room, instead.
Newman, 82, says, "I'm not able to work anymore as an actor at the level I would want to. You start to lose your memory, your confidence, your invention.
"So that's pretty much a closed book for me. I've been doing it for 50 years. That's enough."
Newman's last notable movie was animated hit Cars in 2006. He provided the voice of Doc Hudson.
He'll now concentrate on his restaurant in Westport, Connecticut, as well as his charity for seriously ill children.
