In March, Miramax will begin production of a third Scary Movie installment to be titled Scary Movie 3: Episode I--Lord of the Brooms, a spoof of Star Wars, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. No casting decisions have been solidified, according to Variety.

PageSix.com reports that Sopranos star Lorraine Bracco allegedly stole a $5,000 dress she was allowed to wear for a photo shoot that took place last month. Bracco denies the allegations, saying she "borrowed" the dress and has since returned it. Drew Carey, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and Wayne Newton flew into Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Sunday to entertain U.S. troops stationed nearby. X-Files star Gillian Anderson has sent a letter to the prime minister of Turkey, urging him to increase the enforcement of animal rights in that country. Anderson is an active member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. According to Reuters, Nicole Kidman and Robbie Williams' remake of the Frank Sinatra song "Somethin' Stupid" topped the music-sales charts in the U.K. for last week. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling revealed to the press on Sunday what the fifth installment of the series holds in store for the young wizard: a romantic tryst with a character named Cho Chang, dealings with death and a surprising new realization about his mysterious past. MTV hunk Carson Daly's new late-night talk show, originally to be titled Later with Carson Daly, will now be titled Last Call. The show will air on NBC at 1:30 a.m. CBS will rebroadcast its wildly successful Michael Jackson concert special celebrating the King of Pop's 30 years in the recording industry on Jan. 9 from 9 to 11 p.m., boldly going up against ABC's broadcast of the American Music Awards. NBC has given the ax to two new sitcoms--Emeril and Inside Schwartz--the network announced on Friday.
