Nick Cannon's 'Got Talent'?

Nick Cannon visits the White House Black Market booth at the Hollywood Life House at the Sundance Film Festival. Park City, Utah the week of 01-16-09.
America's Got Talent was given its own talent boost on Monday, when NBC announced that Nick Cannon was the show’s new host.

Cannon (aka Mr. Mariah Carey) replaces Jerry Springer, who himself took over for the reality-competition show’s first host, Regis Philbin, in 2007. Springer announced last week that he was leaving Talent after just one season.

Cannon’s new hosting gig is part of a pact with NBC that'll see him involved in a number of the network's future projects.

Talent again boasted the highest overall viewership this past summer, which it hopes to repeat when season 4 premieres this summer.
