While some of us have decided to interpret Nicki Minaj's music video for "Stupid Hoe" more creatively than others, the BET network is refusing to air the video altogether. TMZ exclusively spoke with a rep for the television network, who simply said BET would not be broadcasting the video, without giving an exact reason for the ban. However, sources at the company believe the ban was put in place because the video is just too explicit for TV. And let's be honest, it kind of makes sense. Raunchy dance moves, scary alien eyes, and offensive lyrics are a risky combination for television. Not to mention the (potentially) seizure-inducing segments full of quick flashes. My eyes still haven't recovered.
Whatever the reason is, the network couldn't have timed this out better. Banning the video now pretty much guarantees everyone will Google it to see what all the fuss is about. And when they do, they'll be reminded in BIG PINK LETTERS that Minaj will be performing at the Super Bowl, which happens to be this Sunday. It's all one big PR mind game. Nicely done, everyone!
