Love is in the air for Vampire Diaries co-stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder! There have been rumors that these two have been more than blood buddies for a year, but they finally decided to take their relationship public at the MuchMusic Video Awards last night when they showed up hand-in-hand. "Who am I most excited to see tonight?" Somerhalder, 32, smirked. "Nina Dobrev!" Looks like this sexy vampire has got more than blood on his mind, but can their romance survive the TV Show Couples Curse? Many young celebrities have fallen in love on set - Rachel Bilson & Adam Brody from The OC, Blake Lively & Penn Badgley from Gossip Girl, and Chad Michael Murray & Sophia Bush from One Tree Hill, just to name a few. But all three of these couples have one thing in common: the relationships all ended. Will Dobrev and Somerhalder share their fate or will they be the exception, not the rule?
There have been a few exceptions to the break up rule...so far. Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin from the HBO series True Blood are happily married and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson from the Twilight movies are still going strong (anyone else seeing a pattern here?). If being in a vampire phenomena is the key to a successful relationship then Ian and Nina will have nothing to worry about.
