HOLLYWOOD - Madonna has dismissed reports that she is set to divorce husband Guy Ritchie.
The couple has been under intense media scrutiny amid rumors they are allegedly on the verge of a permanent split.
Madonna fuelled the speculation by appearing in public in New York without her wedding ring earlier this week.
But gossips were left guessing again when filmmaker Ritchie flew to New York on Monday to be with his wife.
And now the Material Girl's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, is setting the record straight--insisting the pair is not divorcing.
She tells People.com, "Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage, which does not need saving). There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce."
Rosenberg also dismissed reports Madonna is having a secret fling with New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
She adds, "Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that."
Rosenberg suggests the recent flurry of rumors about the star's private life isn't anything new.
She added: "It's nothing new that people are airing tons of dirty laundry Madonna's way lately--much of it untrue."
