An unnamed European buyer dropped $37,500 on a full-frontal nude picture of Madonna -- perhaps unaware that he/she could’ve printed out an Internet shot for free!
The auction was held at Christie’s in New York, and the photo fetched more than twice the expected amount, which was placed at up to $15,000, according to the auction house.
It also set a new high for the price of Madonna photo.
The photo was taken in 1979, when Madonna was a struggling dancer who went by the name Madonna Louise Ciccone.
The Associated Press says the pop superstar was probably paid no more than $25 for the nude photo session.
