HOLLYWOOD - Talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey is poised to take over the world of radio after launching her own satellite radio channel this morning.
Winfrey signed a three-year, $55 million deal with XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. for the new channel, called Oprah and Friends, in February.
Winfrey and her best friend Gayle King host a show, as do popular celebrities including fitness guru Bob Greene and poet Maya Angelou.
A selection of guests have already been confirmed for the first few weeks of programming, including actresses Annette Bening and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, rocker Jon Bon Jovi, New York Times columnist Tom Friedman and Donald Trump.
