OutKast's most prolific member, Big Boi, was arrested in Miami yesterday for possessing numerous drugs (including MDMA powder, which is an active ingredient in Ecstacy, Viagra, and Ecstacy pills themselves). Sources from the Miami-Dade Country Corrections Department told TMZ that Big Boi was busted by customs officers and border patrol dogs as he was getting off of a cruise ship. Big Boi (whose real name is Antwan Patton) was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the Corrections Department, all four charges are felonies. After being taken to jail at approximately 1:35 PM, he posted $16,000 bond and was released.
Big Boi's attorney issued a statement on his behalf, saying "While Big Boi was traveling with his group and friends, a small amount of contraband was found in the collective luggage. I am confident that when the entire facts are aired Big Boi will be completely exonerated." So now the luggage has two sets of problems, I guess.
