Pacino, Walken and Arkin Are 'Stand Up Guys'

It was once postulated that Al Pacino and Christopher Walken could never appear in the same movie, for fear that bringing together such potent forces of self-caricature might be too much for our delicate planet to withstand. Then Gigli happened, and while the world of cinema was certainly shaken by the experience, humanity as a whole was spared extinction.

Nine years later, the two actors have again decided to join forces, and I fear that Earth may not survive this time. THR reports that Pacino, Walken, and the still-credible Alan Arkin have signed on for the action-comedy Stand Up Guys. The film concerns two criminals, one of whom is targeted for assassination by the other, who "decide to enjoy one last night of debauchery in which they hit up a brothel, steal some cars and evade police but also face the choices they made in their lives." Fisher Stevens, Oscar-winning producer of The Cove, will direct from a script by Noah Haidle. Filming is slated to begin in April, but the construction of underground bunkers should probably commence immediately.
