'Pan's Labyrinth' Claims Nine Honors at Mexican Film Awards

HOLLYWOOD - Acclaimed fantasy film Pan's Labyrinth swept the board at Mexico’s Ariel film awards on Tuesday.
Director Guillermo del Toro's movie claimed nine honors at the annual Ariel Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
One of the film's stars, Spaniard Maribel Verdu, claimed the Best Actress prize and the film's cinematography, art direction, original score, makeup, costume design and special effects were also honored.
In his Best Director acceptance speech, del Toro dedicated his award to "the new generation of (Mexican) filmmakers."
