HOLLYWOOD - Actor Mandy Patinkin has caused controversy on the set of TV drama Criminal Minds by failing to show up for a script read-through.
Sources at TV network CBS, which airs the weekly show, claim executives could write the actor out of the upcoming third season on the series as a result of his reluctance to join his castmates.
The Hollywood Reporter claims Patinkin chose not to show for the read-through meeting after realizing his case-cracking character, Jason Gideon, was being written out of the show.
This follows friction between the star and producers last summer over alleged salary issues.
