Peter Falk Dies at 83

peter falkThe world of entertainment suffered a severe loss last night when actor Peter Falk passed away in his home at 83 years old.  So far family members have declined to reveal the cause of death, but it was known that the Emmy-winning actor had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia for many years.  Whether either of these ailments played a direct part in the iconic actor's death remains to be determined.  Falk is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shera and his two daughters, Catherine and Jackie, whom were adopted with his first wife, Alyce Mayo.

Falk's biggest claim to fame was his role as a tough-talking TV detective in the popular show, Colombo, for which he won a total of four Emmy's.  The raincoat, the cigar, the slouch - Americans just couldn't get enough of him.  Those who grew up during his time will tell you he was one of the all-times greats and for those of you who have never even heard of Peter Falk, sign into your Netflix accounts ASAP.

One more thing....the world will miss you!
