HOLLYWOOD - Brad Pitt has beaten out Leonardo DiCaprio in the race to win the chance to make a movie based on a zombie horror book that has yet to be written.
Pitt's Plan B and DiCaprio's Appian Way production companies both took part in a bidding war for the chance to take Max Brooks’ upcoming book, World War Z to the big screen. Plan B with Paramount Pictures won with a reported six-figure bid, going to seven figures when the film is made.
The fierce battle was prompted by the success of Brooks' 2003 novel Zombie Survival Guide.
