HOLLYWOOD - Filming on the set of Heath Ledger's final film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus has been abandoned following the death of the actor.
The cast of Terry Gilliam's new fantasy movie had recently finished filming in London and was set to relocate to Canada, where shooting was to begin at Vancouver's Bridge Studios.
But now production on the star's last movie has reportedly been halted.
A source tells Us Weekly magazine, "I just got the call (on Tuesday) saying everyone was being let go. We were supposed to start this weekend, but obviously they fired everyone today."
An autopsy carried out on Wednesday failed to reveal how the Brokeback Mountain star died, although police believe his death is drug-related as sleeping pills were found by his bed. No illegal drugs were found.
Representatives for Gilliam and studios Infinity Features Entertainment and Davis-Films were unavailable for comment as WENN went to press.
