Quote of the Day: Elton John on Queen Elizabeth II
HOLLYWOOD - Musician Elton John, who will perform for Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee concert next month along with Ozzy Osbourne and Paul McCartney, in an interview Friday on British Broadcasting Corp. television:
"I don't know how much the queen likes pop music. She grins and bears it. She is probably the best in the world at grinning and bearing it at every occasion, whether it's Maori dancing or pop music.
"She understands what a performer has to go through. I feel so sorry for her when she goes to all these different countries, has to stand there and watch things, and she must be bored out of her mind half the time."
