Director Sam Raimi has been given the challenge of bringing popular fantasy game World of Warcraft to the big screen for a new movie.
The Spider-Man filmmaker has signed on to take charge of the live-action movie adaptation along with The Dark Knight producer Charles Roven.
Raimi is excited at the prospect of tackling the sci-fi franchise, about the battle between the Horde and the Alliance, saying, "At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story."
Production on World of Warcraft is expected to begin once Raimi wraps work on the forthcoming Spider-Man 4 next year, reports Variety.com.
