Release of Nicolas Cage's ‘Ghost Rider’ Delayed

Ghost Rider Movie Stills
HOLLYWOOD - Fans looking forward to seeing Nicolas Cage's movie adaptation of popular comic book Ghost Rider on July 14 will now have to wait more than a year for its release.

The movie was scheduled for a summer release, but now bosses at Sony have shifted the date to Feb. 16, 2007.

With a busy 2006 roster including The Da Vinci Code, bosses at Sony moved Ghost Rider to take pressure off the company's marketing department.

Sony vice chairman Jeff Blake says, "I think everybody is looking at their release schedule in 2006 and trying to avoid some of the traffic jams. Seven films for a summer is a lot."
