Rep denies Hoskins' retirement claims

The Who Framed Roger Rabbit star's last movie appearance came in 2009's A Christmas Carol, voicing a character in the animated blockbuster alongside Jim Carrey and Colin Firth.

But Hoskins, who has two films set for release this year (10), told journalists at a recent screening in London that he has "no plans" to make any more movies, according to Britain's Sunday Telegraph newspaper.

He said, "I've got no plans to do any more films. I've been to America and that's where you make the money, and I have. In England, we only do art films, and if you want to that, good luck. I don't.

"It's just wonderful to wake up in the morning and know I haven't got to do anything that day."

But a spokesperson for Hoskins is adamant the star must have been joking.

The rep tells the publication, "He is definitely interested in working. I don't know where that's come from."
