Richie 'Checks Into Hospital to Give Birth'

Nicole Richie has entered a Los Angeles medical facility to prepare for the birth of her second child, according to a report.

The star is expecting her second tot with rocker boyfriend Joel Madden. The pair is already parents to 20-month-old daughter Harlow.

Richie waited until she had paid her respects to ex-fiancé Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein in Los Angeles last Wednesday afternoon to check herself into the maternity ward, reports OK! magazine.

Madden recently revealed that Richie's second pregnancy has been much easier than her first -- and insisted the couple wouldn't know the baby's sex until it was born.

He says, "It's a lot easier. You've already been through it and it's not as intense and dramatic. We're a little more relaxed. It's actually kind of nice.

"We don't know what the sex is. We waited on the first one and it was such an awesome experience that we can't wait to see what the next one is. It's exciting to wait it out."
