HOLLYWOOD - Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence (DUI)--but has reportedly escaped a charge of child endangerment.
The rocker's 10-year-old daughter and her cousin were passengers in his vehicle when Sambora was arrested for drunk driving last month, and officers from the Laguna Beach Police in California wanted prosecutors to get tough with him.
But according to TMZ.com, law enforcement sources have revealed that the Orange County District Attorney has just chosen to charge Sambora with DUI and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher, after disagreeing with the arresting officers.
Sambora is now facing up to six months in jail, if he is convicted of the charges. His arraignment is set for May 7.
