Rick Springfield: Busted!
HOLLYWOOD - "Jessie's Girl" rocker Rick Springfield was arrested for spousal assault at his Malibu, Calif., residence on Monday. The arrest was made at about 6:30 p.m. PDT after the Sheriff's Department was tipped off by a 911 hang-up call they traced to Springfield’s address.
"Deputies responded to the location, they talked to the people that were there and determined that a spousal abuse had taken place and arrested Rick Springfield," Sgt. William Hines of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department told Hollywood.com.
Hines confirmed the woman’s identity as Barbara Springthorpe, Springfield’s wife.
The former "General Hospital" idol was released on $50,000 bail today. No court date has been set.
Springfield and his wife have been married for 18 years. They have two sons.
