Ricky Gervais Wants Will Arnett to Join 'The Office'

Will ArnettWe already know that Will Ferrell will be stopping by Dunder Mifflin Sabre to ease the departure of our dear friend Michael Scott as he leaves Scranton, but he's only there for a few measly episodes. What about after that? Huh? What are we supposed to do then? Well, executive producer and the creator of the original Office, Ricky Gervais, has an idea. He wants to bring funny man Will Arnett on board. Um, YES.

Gervais announced on his blog that he'd been meeting with NBC execs about possible ideas for the post-Michael world and that he'd recommended Will Arnett as a regular because "he's amazing." I don't think it's too much of a stretch to assume this could totally happen. NBC's already seen success with Arnett in his recurring spot on 30 Rock and due to the cancellation of his show, Running Wilde, he's got a bit of free time. Plus, how cute would it be for him and his wife, Amy Poehler, to be on two Thursday night comedies on NBC that both run back to back? Okay, that's completely irrelevant, but it would be cute.

Arnett would be an interesting way to bring a little that element of inappropriateness that we depend on Michael for once he's out of the picture. Can you hear me, NBC? (Please!)
