HOLLYWOOD
- Comedian
Jim Carrey
's latest film,
Ripley's Believe It Or Not
, is back on track after being postponed earlier this year, because of a budget blowout.
Filmmakers have hired
Steve Oedekerk
to overhaul the script for
Carrey
and director
Tim Burton
.
Plans for the film were halted in June, just months before production was set to begin, when the movie's budget began to exceed more than $150 million.
Carrey
has come up with many of the creative ideas that will bolster his character Robert Ripley and some of the wonders he uncovered for his “Believe It Or Not” newspaper column.
The film's budget has now been reigned in and production is set to begin in 2008 in China with a planned 2009 release date.
