Legendary rocker, Rod Stewart, is just so excited about becoming a grandfather that he couldn't keep the details to himself. Stewart accidentally revealed his new grandaughter's name in an interview with USA Today, admitting to walking around singing songs about new addition to the family. His daughter Kimberly Stewart gave birth to the baby girl over the weekend—so what wacky name has this Hollywood family chosen to permanently scar the newborn with?
It's not that wacky at all—they named her Delilah. Besides the fact that it makes me think of that annoying song about a girl moving to New York City, it's actually a really cute name and relatively tame for celebrity standards. Well done—no preschool therapy sessions for this little one.
This little bundle of joy isn't the first grandchild for good old Rod, but he couldn't be happier about the birth saying that "My joy is indescribable." He talked about his new granddaughter while singing out the name Delilah and admitting, "I've been going around blabbing that out for hours now." Hope mom and dad (Benicio Del Toro) aren't too upset with Rod's little slip up. Don't go too hard on him though, he's just a proud grandpa.
The baby's birth seems to be affecting the rocker in all kinds of ways and has been inspired to start writing songs again. Rod states, "I'm writing about divorce, about my childhood, all sorts of things. Why this gift has come back to me after lying dormant for 17 years, I don't know. But it has." I guess the Stewart family has quite the little muse on their hands. Congrats to the happy family and keep on writing Rod!
