HOLLYWOOD - Rosie O'Donnell has never been shy about expressing her opinions, and her disagreement with the state of Florida's gay adoption policy is no exception.

The comedian and six-year talk-show host shared her thoughts on motherhood and sexuality recently with Diane Sawyer on ABC's Primetime Thursday.

Reuters reports O'Donnell, who has shared a four-year relationship with another woman and who is the mother of three adopted children, claims she doesn't "think America knows what a gay parent looks like. I am the gay parent."

Further, she completely disagrees with a statement President George Bush made that adopted children ought to have a married man and woman for parents.

"President Bush is wrong about that," O'Donnell said. "If...he and his wife are invited to come spend a weekend at my house with my children...I'm sure his mind would change."

When asked about her stated adoration of the actor Tom Cruise, O'Donnell said, "He makes my heart beat, and I adore him," and gay people can "appreciate the aesthetic beauty of somebody of the other gender."

The interview will be aired in its entirety tonight at 9 p.m. EST.
