HOLLYWOOD - Actor Kurt Russell is enraged with the decision to cast Scottish actor Gerard Butler in a remake of the 1981 film Escape from New York.
Russell, who played infamous antihero Snake Plissken in the John Carpenter-directed original, has taken issue with the casting of the 300 star because he's not American.
Russell, 56, says, "When I was told my initial reaction was, 'Oh man.'
"I do think that character was quintessentially one thing--and that's American."
