Ruth Wilson is reportedly in talks to play the lead female role in The Lone Ranger, Disney's resurrection of the iconic radio serial-turned-TV series, featuring Armie Hammer as the titular masked lawman and Johnny Depp as his loyal sidekick, Tonto. Haven't heard of Ruth Wilson? What are you, not British? The actress hails from the UK, where she most recently starred in the BBC series Luther, co-starring Idris Elba. Her most recent stateside project was the 2009 AMC mini-series The Prisoner, starring Jim Caveziel and Ian McKellan.
The Lone Ranger is directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It is currently slated for a December 21, 2012, release.
