Ryan Murphy's 'American Horror Story' Gets a Second Season

American Horror Story FXHappy Halloween! There are more spooky episodes of FX's latest hit American Horror Story on the way.

The Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (Glee, Nip/Tuck) creation garnered 5 million viewers on its Oct. 5 premiere, making it FX's biggest original series premiere. The series stars Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) and Dylan McDermott (The Practice) as a couple living with their teenage daughter in a haunted house in Los Angeles. Despite a slight dip at episode two, AHS's ratings perked back up as the series continued, making it a lucritive venture for the Fox-owned network. Here's FX's official statement:

It’s one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience -- it’s something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up...Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have hit the trifecta with Nip/Tuck, Glee and now American Horror Story, which will be scaring FX’s viewers to death for many years to come.

American Horror Story
airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
