Savannah festival nabs Donen, Fonda
HOLLYWOOD - Director Stanley Donen, whose films include On the Town, Singin' in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Damn Yankees!, Lucky Lady and Movie Movie, has agreed to attend the opening night of the Savannah Film Festival on Saturday, where he will receive the first Johnny Mercer Award. (Mercer was born in Savannah). On Monday, the festival, which is sponsored by the Savannah College of Art and Design, is scheduled to present a lifetime achievement award to Jane Fonda.
