Scooby Doo
HOLLYWOOD - We all knew this was going to happen.

After Scooby-Doo scooped up box office profits to the tune of $54 million in its opening weekend, Warner Bros. has pushed forward the schedule to reunite the Mystery, Inc. gang for another adventure in 2003.

The studio is looking to seal a deal for the sequel that will reteam director Raja Gosnell with cast members Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne), Freddie Prinze Jr. (Fred), Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Linda Cardellini (Velma).

"We promised audiences a summer movie the whole family could enjoy together, and they gave us a tremendous opening weekend," Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Warner Bros.' president of worldwide productions, told Variety. "We're certain we've got another great Scooby-Doo story to tell in movie theaters two years from now."
