Seinfeld documentary snatched up by Miramax

HOLLYWOOD - The comedic stylings of Jerry Seinfeld live on.

In the year following his departure from his eponymous hit comedy, Seinfield, Jerry went on the road for about a year, followed by a digital video camera. Now, even if you didn't catch him live, you'll get to see the stand-up comedian in all his glory, plus take a sneak peek behind the curtain.

Miramax, which had to endure a lengthy negotiation process to secure the worldwide rights to the movie, will distribute the 100-minute documentary, titled Comedian, Variety reports. Exactly when is still up in the air, as no release date has been scheduled.

Funnymen Chris Rock, Garry Shandling and Colin Quinn also appear in the film, which was directed and produced by the same Ogilvy and Mather advertising team behind Seinfeld's popular American Express commercials.
