Troubled actor Tom Sizemore is back behind bars after allegedly assaulting a woman during a heated argument in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The Saving Private Ryan star was arrested and booked on a charge of misdemeanor domestic violence following the late-night altercation.

He is being held on $20,000 bail, reports TMZ.com.

It's not the first time Sizemore has been accused of hitting a woman -- in 2003, he was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend, Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss.

The actor, who has long battled drug addiction, has had a string of other run-ins with the law -- he was last arrested in May on an outstanding warrant for drug charges.
