HOLLYWOOD - Defiant movie star Wesley Snipes is refusing to return to America and face tax fraud charges, insisting he'll continue shooting new film Gallowwalker in Namibia.
Tax officials have issues a warrant for the Bladestar's arrest, but the actor has decided his career must come first.
Screenwriter Joanne Reay insists Snipes is filming in the Namibian desert and has no plans to flee justice before he completes the shoot.
She says, "We are shooting and we are continuing to shoot. We are aware of the issue around the tax charges but we are not discussing it."
Snipes has been indicted on eight counts of tax fraud, accused of trying to cheat the government out of nearly $12 million.
