So You Think You Can Dance
is headed for South Africa. Executive producer and judge
Nigel Lythgoe
tells Hollywood.com he’s headed there in the beginning of September to get the show underway.
The dance competition is already popular in countries like the U.S., Australia and Canada and
Lythgoe
hopes the South African show will have its own unique appeal. No word yet on who the judges but he hopes the show will be
“I think it is really important that your country makes a mark and does it for your territory you know,” says
Lythgoe
. “I don’t think you can just take a show and say it is going to work because it is successful in America it will work here. I think you have to caress it into shape.”
